Oct 1st and a meet up for a three day trip up to the rim and then a New Mexico loop down through Alma, over to Morenci and back up to Springerville

We had another couple join us near the We Ko Pah Casino

We're planning a picnic at Wood Lake and a few of us had to stop for the fixins.

I think John was expecting a bigger sub!

We are all getting hungry so no wasting time now.

Just a few more miles and we will be enjoying the view looking down from the very top of the rim.

Fuel, hardware, groceries, and most importantly, candy and camodes.

I liked the old homestead across the street.

I think Billy the Kid roamed through here a time or two.

Dropping down towards Morenci are these standing up rocks that remind me of the Chiracauas.

The scenery riding up the Coronado Trail is out of this world.


We saw a lot of deer and elk, but the lighting was never favorable for a good picture.

June 3rd and starting this trip out with three good friends at Denny's in Blythe, CA Heading north from Blythe on CA 95 There are always a few minor adjustments to be made at the beginning of every trip. Ken, on the bike on the right will be leading most of this trip as he has built several GPX files to guide us along. Hope I got that right. He asked if we wanted to see the original bridge that was used to cross the Colorado River back in the olden days. We all did! I thought I had never seen it before, but I had. I thought this bridge had been constructed just for the pipelines, but I found out that this was actually the original car bridge converted to just pipelines. So we turned around and crossed over the Colorado on the new bridge. New might be used rather loosely here. Mike on the left, Ken in the middle and Rocky on the right. I'm starting a new trip to the NorthWest on Sunday the 17th of August. My bike is already to go and so am I..........almost. This is going to be my first blog entry from my new MacBook Air laptop. I think it is going to work out pretty well.   I was expecting a long and very hot day, but while it was sort of long, It was a good day. I left in the dark at 4:29 this morning and as soon as I turned north on Old El Mirage Rd, I saw a shooting star right in front of me. It was already warm then so I was only wearing a t-shirt and that is all I needed all the way to my destination of Buellton, CA. Although I have ridden Hwy 154 east of Santa Barbara many times, it is always fun, and I like to check the status of Lake Cachuma. I'm not sure why that actually matters......hmmmm? Today is their first day of school but I've already forgotten what today actually is. It's Thursday the 28th of August and I'm starting to work my way back home after a couple of more stops. Time to say my goodbyes to Melissa and Steffen and the kids. Bev wasn't aware that Steffen and I had already gone out for breakfast and she was cooking up a pile of bacon. I stopped by my granddaughters to drop off the helmet she used to wear when she first started riding with me. I took this picture of her brand new bicycle. I wanted a picture of it turning 160,000 miles but there were no safe places to pull over until now, which was about fifty feet farther than I wanted to be. Oh well, probably still better to be alive. This tire store belongs to my friend Doug's brother.
